Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing: Salt Fever

Most people who have the privilege to get their hands on a 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL use it for occasional Sunday touring or leave it in a garage or car museum. After all, this classic is worth more than a million bucks. Not Bob Sima. He prefers to drive his Gullwing at 140MPH+ speeds across the punishing, metal-eating environment of Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats.

After all, if awesome cars aren’t meant to be driven, what good are they?
