The new generation MINIs have always been very capable cars and great fun to drive. MINI’s 2015 MINI Cooper line doesn’t change that, but does sport an all-new engine. MINI has made a few modifications to the cars in addition to the new engine and a few more improvements.

The radiator grille now has a hexagonal pattern and a wide chrome surround, the taillights are larger with LED daytime running lights, and the turn indicators have been changed. MINI offers the line in five new paint finishes and the roof can be contrasting or body color as desired. The vehicle is also slightly longer (about 3.85″), wider (by about 1.6″ in back and 1.3″ in front). The MINI Cooper ends up at 150″ long, 57″ wide, and 55″ tall. The three variants include the MINI Cooper with a 136 bhp 3-cylinder engine; MINI Cooper S with 192 bhp 4-cylinder gasoline engine and MINI Cooper D with a 116 bhp 3-cylinder diesel engine.

Buyers can choose from the standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission or sports automatic transmission. The suspension has been improved, which MINI describes as an enhanced “go-kart” feeling, with systems like Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC) being fitted as standard. And as we know, all go-karts have DSC, DTC and EDLC, right?

The new models are expected to go on sale in the spring of 2014.
