Winter in the Tesla Model S

Written by Paul Strauss | December 21, 2013

While the Tesla Model S is already well known for its electric powertrain, massive torque, striking body styling and luxurious high-tech interior, it’s not exactly the first car that comes to mind when thinking about Winter driving. In this short film produced by Tesla Motors, Norwegian business executive Arne Jakobsen explains how impressively the Model S handles in the snow and ice, as well as in sub-freezing temperatures.

He says he’s only experienced a marginal decrease in driving range in the extremely cold weather, which is surprising for a battery-powered car. We’re also impressed with the 30 minute charging time from his local Supercharger station.
