Koenigsegg Gets Airborne in Need for Speed Stunt

The upcoming Need for Speed movie is all about fast cars and dangerous seat-of-the-pants street racing. In one of the biggest stunts for the film, a Koenigsegg goes sideways between two other Koenigsegg supercars and the script calls for it to ride up one car, take off into the air, and come down hard. Originally, the film’s director expected to have to create the sequence with CGI effects. But the stunt team took a look at it and came up with an incredible stunt to make it happen: they built a rack for the Koenigsegg and pushed the car and the rack into a pipe ramp built to launch it. The result is astounding.

R.I.P. Koenigsegg, you gave your life to a better cause: a racing film (although you were probably also just a hollow stunt double).
