Formula 1 POV with Lucas Di Grassi

Driver Lucas Di Grassi donned an eye-level camera to capture the experience of driving an F1 car from the most realistic perspective ever. This video, captured at Belgium’s Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, focuses on the intensity of driving on a test track, and in this particular case, it was on a wet day for extra thrills.

To make things even more challenging, the camera blocked part of his view: “I had to drive with only one eye open as the camera was blocking my other eye, quite tricky.” Given that description, we’re assuming he wasn’t wearing Google Glass. In fact, it’s revealed in another POV video that he’s actually strapped a GoPro to the front of his helmet:

It looks like he’s either sitting lower in that second clip, or the camera is mounted lower on his helmet that shown. Naturally, the videos are best watched in full HD, full-screen mode. You can find more incredible racing videos on Lucas’ YouTube channel.
