Storm the Beach in a 1940s VW Schwimmwagen

The Volkswagen Schwimmwagen not only has one of our favorite names for any vehicle ever produced, but was actually a pretty capable four-wheel drive amphibious vehicle as this video demonstrates. This Polish family loaded up their Schwimmwagen and went out for a drive eventually crossing the lake to storm the beach and some unsuspecting beachgoers. Looks like the ended up at VW gathering… what a happy coincidence.

On a side note, a 1943 Schwimmwagen was sold not too long ago. The asking prices was $150,000 but we’re not sure what it sold for, so this joy ride didn’t come cheap.
