Devel Sixteen 5,000 Horsepower Hypercar

Written by Kenny Hoeschen | March 11, 2014

The Devel Sixteen is a hypercar being developed in Dubai with the goal of creating the most extreme production car in the world, and setting new records along the way. A prototype of the Sixteen was first unveiled at the Dubai Motor Show in November of 2013, at which time one of the car’s developers, Rashid Al-Attari, told us that the car would go into production in about 16 months, meaning March of 2015.

The car will have a V16, 5,000 horsepower engine with four turbochargers which gives it an expected top speed of almost 350 mph and a 0-to-60 time of something like 1.8 seconds. The car will be able to be driven as a 8-cylinder car with around 800-900 horsepower, but the driver can flip a switch to go to “Beast” mode with all 5,000 horsepower available.

Devel Sixteen hasn’t provided any further updates since Dubai, so we’ll see what happens as we get closer to the planned production date. Color us skeptical at this point.
