From the Vaults: 1967 Pontiac Firebird TV Spot

Back in the late 1960s and into the 1970s, the Pontiac Firebird was a highly desirable muscle car. Pontiac saw their biggest (non GM) competition in the form of the Mercury Cougar, Ford Mustang, and Plymouth Barracuda.

So naturally, Pontiac decided to poke fun at the cat, the horse, and the fish in this amusing commercial which did its best to convince us that their bird was superior to all of the other animals. And if they were talking about the classic Firebird 400 convertible, they may very well have had a point.

“For a road machine that really flies, get a Firebird!”
