VW Lifts Virtual Curtain on the GTI Roadster Vision

Volkswagen released a little teaser and a few concept drawings recently as a preview for their new GTI Vision Gran Turismo Concept. The car doesn’t exist in the real world, but VW will unveil a full-size model of the car at the Wörthersee 2014 Austria and you’ll be able to drive it on the virtual tracks of  Gran Turismo 6 in June.

Powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo VR6 TSI engine, the little open-top coupe has 496 horsepower and 491 lb-ft. of torque. With a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, this is an updated version of the powertrain seen in the Design Vision GTI Concept. The GTI Roadster also shows off 20-inch v-spoke wheels, 15-inch vented disc brakes up front and 14-inch version of the same in the back. We love the curved windscreen on the car and the aggressive rear spoiler. It also sports beautiful carbon fiber details, low-profile lighting both front and rear, and a great, dual center exhaust.
