Fiat’s 500L Vans Concept Built for Surfers

With the 2014 Vans US Open of Surfing currently underway in Huntington Beach, California, Fiat has built a custom Fiat 500L concept specifically designed for the surfer world. Inspired by the classic Vans surf and skate shoes, the Vans Design Concept reflects the styling of the classic sneakers.

The 500L has a checkerboard roof, palm-patterned canvas on the seats, Vans logo stickers on the dashboard, and — our favorite — the Vans Waffle Sole pattern on the pedals and storage bins. The iconic waffle pattern also appears outside on the step pad, cladding and the front grille. The concept car also has a distinctive two-tone color scheme, 18-inch matte black wheels, and a double-decker roof rack for stowing all your surf gear. But we’re not sure how Audi will feel about the four rings of LED lights up front. Gnarly.
