Renault Teases New Sport R.S. 01 Racer

Renault is building an all-new RS Trophy car to compete in the World Series by Renault championship, and the automaker has just revealed a short teaser video showcasing the 500+ horsepower racer. With the official unveiling scheduled for August 27, 2014, the R.S. 01 looks to be pretty impressive.

Power comes from a Nissan NISMO-sourced engine attached to a 7-speed sequential Sadev gearbox all of which is contained within a carbon monocoque chassis. The car is expected to come in at just about 2,425 pounds which gives it an impressive power-to-weight ratio.

We can’t wait to see the car fully unveiled and see how it performs on the track. It’s sure to be worth the wait.
