With the limited re-release of the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series to the Japanese market, the country certainly has shown its love for the venerable off-road vehicle. To celebrate the history of the Land Cruiser, Toyota put together this terrific video showing what some consider the true purpose of the rugged vehicle: taking man to places that otherwise may not be explored and appreciated, being involved in people’s lives, and working throughout the world.

They’ve also set up an incredible gallery of Land Cruisers of all models and from all over the world, from FJ40s fording rivers, 55s going camping, and FJ80s crossing deserts. Take a look at the entire gallery on the Toyota Japan site and a few of our favorites below. Also, be sure to check out the timeline of the history of the Toyota Land Cruiser in Japan.
