Saleen FOURSIXTEEN Tesla Model S Sounds off

With 416 horsepower from the factory, the Tesla Model S P85 is already a powerful car. However, Saleen aims to make it even more fun with their upcoming FourSixteen mod. We’ve already seen the car, and Steve Saleen promised that it would not only look and perform better than a stock Model S, but that it would also sound better. Of course, anything is better than nearly complete silence if you’re a true gearhead.

In this recently released clip, we get to hear just how much zip and zing Saleen has managed to add to the pure-electric Tesla. While it’s not exactly the kind of sound we’re used to hearing from a Saleen, it’s definitely got more vroom to it than a regular Model S. To me, it sounds more like a jet engine, or a huge R/C car, but it’s still an improvement if you’re looking for a sporty sound from a pure electric. So far Saleen hasn’t described how they’re getting the extra sound out of the Model S, but presumably it has something to do with the increased gear ratio of its transmission.

And if you’re interested in comparing how the regular Tesla Model S P85 sounds:
