Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 Hits U.S. Dealers

Our regular readers will already know that we’re big fans of the Scion FR-S and we think it’s perfectly situated at a sweet spot between performance and price. If you’ve been thinking of purchasing a new FR-S, you might want to consider the limited edition FR-S Series 1.0 “Release Edition.”

Just 1,500 of these sports coupes will be built and they are available now in United States dealerships. The special edition FR-S comes with a custom-designed rear spoiler and side fender spoilers, a Toyota Race Development steering wheel and shift knob, black seats with T-pattern upholstery, HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights, a TRD cargo mat, and Smart Key with Push Button Start. The 1.0 also shows off a chrome-tipped TRD Quad Tip Exhaust System and TRD lowering springs. The cars come in bright Yuzu yellow paint and each will have numbered series badge on its brushed aluminum shifter surround plate.

Buyers can choose from a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management technology. Pricing on the Series 1.0 is priced at $29,990 (USD) with a manual transmission or $31,090 with an automatic transmission (plus destination charges of $770.) This limited edition series is bound to sell out fast and promises to be great fun to drive.
