Insane Rally Racing in Scotland

Rally racing can be a treacherous thing. Some of the courses are so twisty and dangerous that it’s hard to believe that anyone can safely drive the courses without crashing. The Gribun Rocks Stage 9 at Scotland’s Mull Rally is one such course. Race along with driver Peter Taylor and co-driver Andre Roughead as they set a new Class D record for the route with a 6:42 time during last year’s event in their Ford Focus WRC.

Throughout the punishing course, Roughead reminds Taylor to “be brave” and “watch it” on more than one occasion. I don’t blame him.

Despite their amazing run for this stage, Taylor and Roughead came in second place overall for the race. During the 2014 event, the team had to retire early due to mechanical issues, so they weren’t able to repeat the feat. Frankly, I’m surprised any car can survive this sort of punishment.
