2015 Mustang EcoBoost 4 Does 1/4-Mile in the 11s

I’ve had the pleasure of driving both the V8 and EcoBoost 4 versions of the 2015 Ford Mustang, and while there’s still nothing quite like a good old 5.0 V8, the turbocharged 4 is way better than anyone might expect. Stock, the turbo does 0-to-60 in 5.6 seconds, and a 1/4 mile time around 14 seconds. However, in the hands of the tuners at Livernois Motorsports Engineering, they were able to push the 4-banger down the drag strip in just 11.81 seconds. To put that in perspective, a stock 2015 Mustang GT 5.0 needs about 12.8 seconds to perform the same feat. Not too shabby, I say.

The changes the Livernois boys made to the car included a custom tuning profile for race fuel, racing slicks and skinnies up front, and the removal of the passenger seat and the factory cat-back exhaust system. Livernois says they’ll be selling the MyCalibrator tuning device they used for the tune starting on Monday, November 10th.
