Jay Leno pays a visit to Frank Profera, the owner and co-creator of the Ronin RS 211, a custom built car with some incredible performance numbers. The car started life as a 2005 Lotus Elise and, with the help of some Lotus 2-Eleven body parts, Profera built a car of his own design.

Coming in at just 1,700 pounds and 680 horsepower, speed and acceleration will never be this car’s downfall. He’s able to acheive that horsepower out of a 1.8-liter engine thanks to a system that automatically mixes isopropyl alcohol with gasoline and a repurposed Toyota MR2 gearbox.

With a tiny wind deflector and no roof, it’s time to don a pair of goggles and see what the RS 211 can do on the roads. It seems that sight lines to the back are limited by the giant rear spoiler, with the rearview mirror mounted on a foot-high post. Of course, when you’re moving as quickly as you can in this car you don’t really have to worry about someone coming up behind you. Makes you wonder how Profera ended up getting rear ended by a Porsche driver.
