Joan “Nani” Roma and the MINI racing team went to the grueling Dakar race in South America last year and walked away with the top three places in their category. Roma himself took first place, finishing 5 minutes and 32 seconds in front of his second-place teammate. Roma and MINI are returning to Dakar this year with eight teams and eight MINI ALL4 Racers to defend their title.

In this video from one of the team sponsors, Monster Energy, Roma discusses how he because a top off-road racer, beginning by racing motorcycles as a teenager. He then explains what it takes as an individual and as a team to compete in a 15-day race covering nearly 6,000 miles.
