Audi Quattro R/C Car Challenge

Written by Kenny Hoeschen | December 21, 2014

Swedish-born Audi rallycross driver Mattias Ekström gets the chance to take an Audi S1 EKS RX quattro up against what might be his smallest challenge yet: a remote-controlled version of the same car. But that’s no ordinary kid behind the controls of the R/C quattro, it’s Micha Widmaier, two-time junior R/C champion. And, thanks to his car’s size, Widmaier can sneak through a whole bunch of shortcuts that the full-size Audi can’t even dream of.

The S1 EKS RX quattro has no shortage of power, with 600hp available under the throttle, but it’s hard to keep up with the little guy. In fact, the R/C car probably has a more impressive power-to-weight ratio. But, at the end of the day, the kid’s still hitching a ride home.
