Santa Upgrades to a V8 Sleigh

Christmas is upon us, and Santa Claus is ready to deliver his toys all around the world. But how can you possibly get around fast enough when you’re being pulled by a bunch of reindeer? Surely, Saint Nick could use a more powerful sleigh. Lars Erik Lindberg’s SnowMonster can’t fly through the air and over rooftops, it certainly can burn up the ground beneath it.

The Lindberg’s custom snowmobile/sled started life as a replica 1923 Ford, but has been fitted with Arctic Cat snow tracks in the back, and both snow skis and wheels up front. It’s powered by a massive blown 454 V8 engine with a pair of Holley 750 carbs, and a Littlefield supercharger. The end result? A sleigh with over 550 horsepower.

Using my trusty horsepower to reindeerpower calculator, I estimate that Santa would need at least 450 reindeer to achieve the same result.
