1970 Alfa Romeo Giulia is the Most Beautiful Ugly Car

When I think of Alfa Romeo, I always think of the Spider that rolled around the streets of the U.S. with the top down back in the ’80s. I also think of the new hotness, the 4C. What I don’t think of is the boxy, rather unattractive Alfa Romeo Giulia.

The original Giulia was made between 1962 and 1978, and I don’t think many would see one stock and say it was a good-looking car. Luckily for us, this particular Giulia is far from stock and it looks fantastic. This is one of those cars that goes to show you tasteful mods can make just about anything look good.

This car is a 1970 Giulia 100 Ti and it belongs to a dude named Dorian Valenzuela. He bought the car on Craigslist and proceeded to build it exactly as he wanted, making it more of a fast little rally car, with an upgraded 2-liter engine that about doubled the car’s original horsepower. Removing all of the trim, the car’s minimal looks definitely improve upon the original. In fact, the car turned out so well that it landed him a job at Singer Vehicle Design.
