Sit Inside the Cockpit of a Flying Car

It’s not often that you get to see a car that can also fly like an airplane. Not to be confused with the 1970s Ford car of the same name, the Maverick is a combination street-legal car and airplane built by AEI. The lightweight car weighs just 1,430 pounds. It runs on a 190hp 2.5-liter Subaru engine, and can go from 0-to-60mph in an impressive 3.9 seconds. In this short video clip, you’ll get a front-row seat in the cockpit of this small flying car as it takes to the sky.

In the end, the video amounts to the same thing you’d see from the cockpit of any small plane, but the fact that it has a steering wheel and can drive when it lands back on the tarmac makes it that much cooler. Though I’m assuming you need to take a few minutes to stow its parachute before you head out on the highway…
