Taking inspiration (and a number of drivetrain components) from its big brother G 63 AMG 6×6, the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² is a slightly more accessible version of the ultimate off-road Merc.

Starting out with the boxy G-Class body, the 4×4 Squared borrows the portal axles found on the 6×6 and marries them with a 4.0-liter 422hp V8 under the hood. Its permanent all-wheel drivetrain should help this beast chew through the loosest of rubble, thickest mud and rockiest pathways. This SUV can handle just about any terrain you can throw at it thanks to nearly 18 inches of ground clearance, a 52º angle of approach and a 54º angle of departure. If you plan on taking it off the pavement, you’ll want to kit it out with the fat-lugged 37″ x 12.5″ MT tires on 18″ rims, though it does look pretty spiffy on its 22″ wheels for more civilized adventures too.
