The Hino House Truck

As part of his New Zealand series, The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah found what he says is “probably the world’s fastest two-bedroom home.” It’s a lovely house built on the bed of a 1985 Hino truck. Alex and his wife Hannah built the truck in 2009 when they moved back to New Zealand from the UK.

The pair said the house cost them only about $20,000 (USD), partly because they used recycled and reclaimed materials. Though Alex jokes that the house is good for a 32-second quarter mile, the fact that they can move it whenever and wherever they want is certainly a wonderful advantage. You can check out Alex’s build log on Oldschool for more information and images of their house truck.
