LMP1 Race Battle: Porsche vs. Audi

Few things get the adrenaline flowing during a race like getting to watch a hard fought battle between three evenly matched cars and drivers. This is exactly what happened with a showdown during the World Endurance Championship between LMP1-class cars.

The cars involved in the heated battle were the #8 Audi, #17 Porsche, and #7 Audi cars. The rub for both those Audi cars is that the Porsche has more electric boost that allows it to get up to speed faster.

The cars all have similar top speeds, but getting up to that max velocity more quickly is definitely a big deal for racecars. Watch the video for yourself; the sounds alone are worth it. When that Audi runs out of electric power it’s almost like something broke.
