Colin Furze’s Jet-Powered Go Kart

Over the years, mad scientist Colin Furze has created a variety of insane devices, from Wolverine’s claws, to a firework-proof suit, to the world’s fastest baby stroller. Colin’s latest creation? A jet-powered go kart. That seems like a safe idea.

The crazy looking contraption runs on a mix of gas and diesel fuel, and spews forth a flame worthy of a rocket ship. If you’re wondering why Colin doesn’t get burned by all that heat when he’s driving it, that’s because the seat is backed with a heat shield.

So far, he’s been able to get the thing to top out around 60 mph, and he thinks he could go faster if he had a longer runway. Obviously, he needs one without bumps given this thing’s low ground clearance.
