2016 Audi A4 Grows, but Sheds Weight

Audi has unveiled the new 2016 A4 and the car has some nice new tricks up its sleeves. One of the big things about the new A4 is that it’s increased in size making it more comfortable for driver and passengers. Despite growing about 1 inch in overall length, 0.5″ in wheelbase, and about 0.5″ in width, the car has also lost weight.

Shedding poundage while growing is a nice feat and less weight means more performance and better fuel economy. The overall shape is basically the same. The maximum weight loss for the 2016 A4 is 264 pounds, depending on engine and trim level.

The car has a super cool instrument cluster with the ability to display full-size navigation maps. In the US, the car will feature a 2.0L TSFI turbo-four making 272 hp. A 2.0L diesel four will also be offered. Front-wheel or all-wheel drive options are available and front-wheel drive versions can get a dual-clutch gearbox, ditching the CVT offered last year.
