A Lotus 3-Eleven Rips and Roars Around the ‘Ring

With its supercharged V6 engine cranking 450 horsepower, and featherweight aluminum/composite construction, the open cockpit Lotus 3-Eleven clocks a 0-60 time below three seconds with a top speed of 180 miles per hour. That’s fast, as in the fastest street-legal Lotus ever built.

At least, it will be the fastest when the limited edition of 311 automobiles begins to roll off the assembly line in 2016.

A Nürburgring devotee who goes by cvdzijen on Youtube captures this cat-quick, modified Elise on Germany’s famed track. The gorgeous, matte grey 3-Eleven darts through the course’s storied curves with a feral growl. Be sure to watch through to the end of the video for some close-up shots of the 3-Eleven as it awaits the start of another spin on the ‘Ring.
