One of the most anticipated performance cars that Ford has brought to the U.S. in a long time is the Focus RS. The car has been offered overseas for a long time, but Americans are getting it for the first time, and with some significant improvements.

Ford Performance documented the Focus RS in a new video series called Rebirth of an Icon, and the first episode just dropped this week. Among the highlights of the video is footage of Ken Block’s encounter with a prototype of the RS, clad in black and looking good. After letting Ford Exec Raj Nair take a granny-style ride around Ford’s test track, Block pushes the prototype a little further, though still nowhere near its limits.

The video also educates us on the lineage of the Focus RS. Nair also talks a bit about fighting the spy photographers at the test facility who sometimes use drones to shoot pics of new models. Block also talks about getting a second-gen Focus RS shipped to the U.S. as a daily driver when he first signed with Ford.

Check out the video. It’s worth a watch.
