Is the Radical RXC Turbo 500 Faster than a McLaren P1?

I have been an instructor at track days for half a decade, and when fellow car folks find out, the first question that comes up is: “What’s the best track car?” I always tell them the Miata. The next question is often: “If I could have any car for the track what would it be?” The answer is for me is always Radical.

The Radical RXC Turbo 500 you see here is a beast of a car that is actually street legal in many parts of the world. It comes with a robust and powerful Ford EcoBoost 3.5L V6 making about 531 hp. Considering the car itself weighs just 2425 pounds, the RXC Turbo 500 is a flat-out rocketship. Thankfully, it’s fitted with plenty of aero bits to keep it glued to the ground.

Selling for about $220,000(USD), it’s a fraction of the price of something like the McLaren P1, but has a similar power-to-weight ratio. So the question Evo set out to answer is, is the Radical RXC Turbo 500 faster than a McLaren P1? If you want to know if the car can best the P1, you’ll need to watch the video. It’s worth it just for the sound of the turbos.
