Subaru 360 Rally Video Lets You Peer Through the Roof

Subaru has published a 360° video of driver David Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew as they won the 2015 Lake Superior Performance Rally. The race is part of the Rally America championship.

Subaru wants people to watch the VR-ready video using its Subaru Motorsports app. If you don’t want to download that app, check it out on YouTube above. You have to pan around the video by click-dragging on the image, or by moving your mobile device around. You can look in a complete circle from the roof of the car. The coolest part is if you pan down towards the car, you can see the drivers through the roof.

The biggest thing that stands out for me in this video is the fact that the course isn’t besieged with fans standing an inch off the racing surface. Such are the safety differences between rallying in the US and abroad.
