Morgan Motor Company Lands £6m for New Powertrains

Morgan Motor Company is famous for its three-wheel vehicles that look like something left over from the early days or motoring, but updated with more modern drivetrains. The boutique auto company has announced it has landed some significant funding to the tune of £6m (~$8.5m USD), which will be used to develop new powertrain technologies.

Morgan will work with other UK firms Delta Motorsport and Potenza Technology. The funding came from the UK Advanced Propulsion Centre and will be used for developing hybrid and electric powertrain systems to reduce emissions and improve fuel economy.

Government Business Secretary Sajid Javid announced the funding during a tour of the Morgan factory in Malvern last week. Sounds like hybrid, or all electric Morgan 3-wheelers could be coming soon.
