Spin Through California Canyon Roads in a Porsche 996 Turbo

Nyx was flying out to San Diego to pick up a newly purchased Porsche 996 Turbo, but she offered to let Matt Farah at The Smoking Tire jump into the driver’s seat before heading cross-country with her new toy to Virginia. Matt, of course, obliged, and captured the hijinks in this video.

The 2003 996 X50 boasts 575 horsepower, and according to Nyx, “it’s the cheapest turbo you can get.” Matt wastes no time putting his foot to 3/4 throttle, and the engine sounds glorious.

Matt and Nyx go into detail about the specs and features of the 996, and the Porsche’s new owner is clearly a hardcore gearhead. She has previously owned a whopping 16 BMWs, and still owns three. But Nyx says, “This is my first Porsche. I’ve waited for this my whole life. This is my dream car.” I bet the drive back to Virginia was a blast.
