2017 Corvette Grand Sport is a Z06 without the Blower

I think the Corvette Z06 is a very cool car, but I have never been a fan of forced induction cars for the racetrack. The car I really want for the track is the new 2017 Corvette Grand Sport that has been unveiled in Geneva. This is essentially a Z06 sans the supercharger, and it looks awesome.

The Grand Sport has a track themed aero package and can achieve 1.05g in the corners standard with 1.2g available if you opt for the Z07 package. Standard tires are Pilot Sport Super Sport summer rubber, while stock brakes are Brembo 14-inch rotors with 6-piston calipers up front, and 13.4-inch rotors with four-piston calipers in the rear. The Z07 package adds in carbon ceramic brakes and very sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Cup tires.

The car has standard magnetic ride control, and an electronic limited-slip diff. The 460hp LT1 V8 can be paired with either a 7-speed manual or 8-speed paddle shift auto transmission. A collector’s version will be offered in special Watkins Glen gray metallic color. The car will land this summer in the US and this fall in Europe.
