Fastest Holden HSV Ever to be Called the GTS-R W1

Last year at about this same time, we talked a bit about the final Holden Commodore-based HSV that would pack the blown 7.0-liter LS9 V8 out of the last generation Corvette ZR1. At the time, we thought the car might sell for around 100,000 Australian Dollars (about $76,000 USD). Some new details have surfaced about the car and it will be way more expensive than we thought.

Word is that the GTS-R W1 will set back the lucky 250 folks who can afford one over $170,000 AUD (~$130,000 USD) when it launches. The car will produce around 638 horsepower, and the only transmission offering for the beast will be a 6-speed manual. Word has also come forward that the Magneride dampers will be replaced with Supashock dampers made just for the car.

This will be the most powerful car ever made in Australia, and a fitting finale to the Holden legacy, as production winds down.
