Wayne’s World Pacer Sells for $37k

I mentioned a week or so back that the actual AMC Pacer from the flick Wayne’s World was going up for auction. That auction happened over the weekend and some fan plunked down $37,400 for the movie car.

That’s not a whole lot of money for such an iconic vehicle, but on the other hand, it’s a whole lot to pay for a Pacer, no matter what. Even a fully-restored Pacer won’t set you back more than about $4000, so this car fetched about a 10x premium for its on-screen fame.
