Rebuilding engines can be quite time-consuming, especially if you’re working on multiple projects in your shop like the guys at Thirlby Automotive, CSR Motorsports, and Traverse Body and Paint Center. Ultimately, their rebuild of an old Chrysler Hemi FirePower V8 took them about 10 months to complete, but it’s been digested down to just 5 minutes, courtesy of the folks at Hagerty, purveyors of insurance for classic and collectible cars.

The resulting video took them 40,000 individual images, and countless hours of blood, sweat, tears, and grease, and is well worth a few minutes of your time to watch. I’m absolutely in love with the “Chrysler FirePower” branding on the valve covers. It’s that sort of thing that makes me really long for cars that don’t have a bunch of plastic covering up the cool bits of their engines.
