2018 Ford Expedition Hauls Gear with More Power and Luxury

If you have lots of people and stuff you need to haul, you might want a full-size SUV with three rows of seats so you don’t want to kill your kids. The new 2018 Ford Expedition might be just the ticket.

This thing has all sorts of new tech like cool second-row tip-and-slide seating that can move out of the way to give unfettered access to the third row even if child seats are in the second row. Speaking of third row, those seats get more legroom and recline so adults don’t get a concussion on the roof as you drive.

The engine is a more powerful 3.5L EcoBoost unit mated to a new ten-speed transmission. Ford says that gives the Expedition the most towing capacity of any full-size SUV. The vehicle also loses about 300 pounds of weight compared to similarly equipped models from the prior generation.

Ford also fits the center console with wireless charging pads, and the Expedition has USB ports in every row, and a Wi-Fi hotspot so your kids can watch cat videos as you drive. The Expedition can be had with other luxuries, like B&O 12-speaker audio, a Panoramic Vista Roof, and dual-headrest rear seat entertainment.

The 2018 Expedition will launch this fall at an as yet unannounced price. It starts at about $47,000(USD) now so expect similar pricing.
