Chris Harris of /Drive gets behind the wheel of the 850 horsepower Drayson B12/69EV, the car that recently shattered a 40-year-old land speed record for the fastest electric vehicle, with a speed of just over 204 mph. Lord Paul Drayson, the man behind the car, discusses what he was looking to achieve with the vehicle. Drayson began with a B10 Le Mans prototype and applied the latest electric technology to it like wireless charging.

Skip ahead to the 6:00 mark if you want to see the car push out onto the track. It’s unnerving just how quiet the car is, given its astounding speed.
