Peugeot RCZ R
French auto maker Peugeot’s fastest-ever production car takes inspiration from the company’s RCZ Racing Cup, with a low ground profile, and a high-performance 1.6-liter turbocharged engine capable of an ample 270hp, besting standard RCZ models by about 70 horses.
The RCZ R also gets an strengthened six-speed manual transmission and clutch as well as a larger intercooler. Its Torsen differential is designed to improve grip, and its stance has been widened to improve traction. To help driving performance and overall looks, it rides on a pair of two-tone 19-inch alloy wheels, with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric rubbers.
If there’s any concern about the RCZ R, it’s that its base price is £31,995, which works out to north of $51,000 USD. That’s a whole lot of coin to spend on a Peugeot, especially when the base RCZ Coupe starts at £21,850, or about $35,000 USD. One can only hope the extra $16,000+ is worth it.
