Designing the AMG Vision Gran Turismo

The AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept supercar that was created by Mercedes-Benz for Gran Turismo 6 is astounding. Now the Mercedes-Benz designers have stepped forward to discuss the process behind the design of the vehicle.

Steffen Köhl, Director Advanced Design Global, and other members of the Mercedes Design team explain that the team had the freedom to create without the constraints of the real world, while still making a car that drives realistically within the game. We follow the design process through the clay modeling and the actual 1:1 scale model they created as well as the creation of the car’s sound. The team, overall, looks at the game as a chance to showcase the Mercedes-Benz brand and, certainly in this case, the results are incredible.
