MINI: The Big Legacy of the Little Cooper

Written by Kenny Hoeschen | December 11, 2013

BMW recently celebrated the return of MINI production to the Netherlands by rebuilding a 1959 Austin Seven. The MINI, of course, has an impressive legacy and Electric Federal created this short documentary film of that legacy beginning back in 1959. Graham Reid of the Heritage Garage in Costa Mesa, California is the West Coast’s top expert on all things MINI. A restorer, customizer, and racer, Reid is a dedicated enthusiast and ardent lover of the UK’s most recognizable automobile.

Reid discusses the MINI’s ability to hold its own against much more powerful cars on the race track. Originally designed as a small economy car, over the years, the Mini Cooper S has certainly proven its worth on the rally circuit and other tracks around the world.
