D-Day: The Jaguar D-Type

As Jaguar’s E-Type seemingly gets the majority of attention from classic car enthusiasts, it’s easy to neglect the incredible car that pre-dates it – the open air, single-seater D-Type – built from 1954 to 1957. In this short film by Kidston, actor Chris Barrie gets to sit behind the seat of this rare specimen of British car history, with the help of famed Jaguar test driver Norman Dewis, who raced the aircraft-inspired D-Type back in its heyday.
