Audi RS6 Sets World Record Top Speed on Ice

Written by Kenny Hoeschen | February 15, 2014

Nokian Tyres claims to have the world’s best winter tires, and to prove it, they put a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitaa 8s on an Audi RS6 and proceeded to set the world speed record on ice, achieving a top speed of 208.602 mph. The record drive was done on the ice of the Gulf of Bothnia between Finland and Sweden in the dead of winter.

It’s incredible to think what these studded tires are going through at this speed. The car is traveling over 300 feet-per-second and each stud hits the ice 43 times in that second.
