Drop Your Car 14,000 Ft. to Maybe Win a Dodge Nitro?

Written by Kenny Hoeschen | February 17, 2014

Carlton Draught ran this unusual contest in its home country of Australia. One “lucky” contestant volunteered to have her daily driver dropped out of an airplane at 14,000 feet. No parachute. Probably not even an air bag. And if she could hit a one kilometer target with her car, she’d win a new Dodge Nitro. If it missed, she walked home – literally, because her car would be smashed beyond recognition and she’d win nothing.

So watch as a 65-year-old gentleman named Bill decides the moment to send Gill’s 1991 Ford Laser, “Ermy”, plummeting to Earth in the hopes of winning the big prize. If he makes it not only does Gill get a new car but Bill will win AUD $100,000.

We won’t spoil the results, you’ll have to watch it yourself. And you can watch the real-time video of the Laser’s 1:10 freefall below.
