Volvo’s Suprising Racing History

Written by Kenny Hoeschen | February 24, 2014

In this video from 2009, Volvo looks back at it’s racing history and, specifically, it’s participation and success in the Swedish Touring Car Championships (STCC). It first entered the racing world in 1928 and the company has continued to leverage what it’s learned on the track to development of its production vehicles.

Volvo’s C30 STCC race car competed most recently and we’re looking forward to seeing how their new S60 V8 does in the V8 Supercar class.

Volvo has had good success in rally racing, road racing, and on the track, receiving many European and world titles. It’s surprising what a racer can achieve while wearing a turtleneck and tweed jacket.
