Audi S3 Cabriolet

The S3 is a great addition to Audi’s sport-tuned S lineup and now the German auto maker has added the Audi S3 Cabriolet to the line. Unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the Cabriolet has the same 300 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged TFSI engine under the hood as the S3 coupe. Even with the top down, this car can go from 0 to 100 kmh (62 mph) in just 5.4 seconds. With the Audi quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, the S3 should also do well in all sorts of weather. The transmission is Audi’s quick six-speed dual clutch S tronic which has both automatic and manual modes.

The open-top four-seater has a soft top that’s available in three colors and closes in just 18 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph. The car’s design is highlighted by Audi’s trademark Singleframe grille with a chrome surround, big honeycombed air intakes up front, and aluminum accents throughout. The S3 is a bit lower than the A3 cabrio due to the sport suspension and comes with 18-inch aluminum wheels in a five-spoke design and other 18- and 19-inch wheels are optional.

Inside, the S3 reflects Audi’s clean interior design, with completely black details along with inlays in matt brushed aluminum. The instrument dials are in S-specific dark gray metallic and the digits and needles are white. It also has sports seats containing an embossed S3 logo available in a variety of leather and fabric finishes with contrast stitching.

Delivery of the S3 begins this summer in Germany with a base price of €48,500 (~$66,605 USD). No word yet of its availability in the U.S.
