Amazing Hill Climb in a Fiat X1/9

What happens when you take the 1000cc engine from a Suzuki GSX-R1000 sports bike and stick it into the chassis of a Fiat X1/9? Well if you’re driver Vincento Mangienello, pure magic. Check out this awesome footage shot by Francesco Sabatino of the fastest Fiat we’ve ever seen ripping up an uphill slalom course in Italy a few years back. Just the sound of angry bees coming from its exhaust alone is enough reason to watch.

Below, you’ll find footage from his subsequent year’s run in 2012. It’s still a blast to watch, but doesn’t seem as fast to us. We’re betting it’s the electric blue color that made the 2011 build run faster.
