Joy of Jag

Winston Dabbs owns a very special car – a 1955 Jaguar XK140 Drophead. Petrolicious sat down with Dabbs to hear about his love for all things mechanical, and the storied history of this gorgeous ride, which he found in terrible condition in a trailer park across from the Compton Airport. He worked diligently to restore the car to the condition it’s shown in here.

Shockingly, about 15 years ago, he parked the car in the back of his garage, and threw a cover over it for years. It wasn’t until recently that he dusted the car off, and decided to take it for a spin yet again. While it’s not necessarily been restored to Concours d’Elegance standards, Winston’s car is something you’d be happy to drive every day in the California sun – and isn’t that really what it’s all about?
