Audi James 2025: The Cockpit of the Future

During the 2014 CeBIT consumer electronics show, Audi introduced a prototype of what it thinks could be the future of automotive cockpits. The Audi James 2025 concept provides a glimpse into potential future functionality and design.

The dashboard and cabin includes such features as controls which automatically adapt to driving conditions, a pop-up second screen with gesture based controls, and even a retractable electric cupholder. The demonstration also shows off an “auto-pilot” autonomous driving capability, which would momentarily take over control of the car while you check email or perform other tasks. Should the driver not take over at the expiration of the auto-pilot timer, the car would automatically come to a safe stop.

Our favorite feature has to be the Batmobile-like steering wheel which can mechanically transform from a daily driver to a sports car shape.

Also, the future apparently features a whole lot of “bing” sounds.
